Heidi was scheduled to have a c-section Monday morning because the baby was breech; even after multiple attempts of sitting upside down and visiting the doctor trying to turn him. For the past couple weeks she has been on bed-rest sleeping, reading and being bored. Needless to say, we were all anticipating the day of the delivery.

Friday night I went to the Hobbs house with Kristy and we were all sitting out on the deck looking through old pictures from high school, when I got a call from Heidi informing me that her water had broke.

I was in shock! I left to meet them at the hospital and when I arrived, they were prepping her for surgery. She and Mike went in around 1:15 while me, mom, dad, Kally, and Mike's mom Jeanne waited impatiently.

It seemed like it took forever before they finally rolled Marcus out of the OR. The surgery went well and my parents are good friends with all the doctors that were involved, so that was comforting. We saw him when he was only minutes old and it was an amazing experience to see him so brand new.

We met Heidi and Mike up in the room a while later and stayed until 4:00 in the morning. They were exhausted but so happy. We each took our turn holding him before heading home for the night. We kinda like him.

We have visited him multiple times per day since he has been born and he has already changed so much. Today they were able to take him home.

Congratulations Mike and Heidi! One more child means one more nephew for me, one more cousin for Jaxon, Austin and Lincoln, and one more grandson for Grandpa Tom and Grandma Patty.

You two will be amazing parents. I have no doubt about it.

  1. Wow what a tiny guy! I thought Stella was small but he was a good 6 oz smaller. And dang those breech babies...they have a mind of their own. Glad all went well and you guys get to enjoy some new babyness. It is the best thing in the world!
