Last December I had a text conversation that went something like this.
Me "what are you doing on april 24?"
Anna "umm i don't have plans. that is like four months away."
Me "i know but guess where i will be on that day?"
Anna "mexico. or hawaii. that is where I am right now."
Me "no. i wish i was in hawaii. vegas anna! stephen and megan get married that day."
Anna "really? omgg!!! so that's their official day?"
Me "yes and i will be in las vegas. you better be there."
Anna "i will. i should be home by then."
Me "you better be. will you be my date?"
Anna "of course. this is the earliest i have ever been asked out on a date. i like it."
Me "well this is the earliest i've ever asked, so look forward to it."
Well champs, those four months have passed and I will admit that I looked forward to this "date" almost every single day. Anna spent the time in London, and I spent mine in a far better place - Provo. Even if I had wanted to forget about it, I couldn't have. Stephen and Megan were constantly at my apartment reminding me how many days were left until they were going to get married and I was going to see Miss English Muffin herself. Sometimes they would say, "We can't wait to see Anna." When in reality, everyone knows they were just thinking, "We can't wait to get married and then go to Jamaica." Either way, I am grateful they got married, because it gave me a great reason to leave for Las Vegas after graduation.
Cole and I are lucky enough to have been roommates with Stephen --- or I should say, he was lucky enough to have been roommates with us --- for two years. He has become one of my best friends and this weekend was really about him and Megan, with a little reunion thrown in on the side.
Friday night was spent meeting up with Daphne and Anna at Claim Jumper to eat a very late dinner. It was a really funny night as we all caught up on things from the past four months. We all came to the conclusion that everything felt the exact same as the last time we all saw each other.

The next morning was the sealing. It was one of the best ceremonies I have been to. Stephen's family reminds me a lot of my own. From his funny and emotional mom to his young nieces and nephews who were running all around the temple grounds. All of our friends were present at the temple for pictures.

We spent the afternoon at the outlet malls, driving down the strip, and eating dinner at Cafe Luxe.
That night was the reception. It was very simple, basic and they showed the wedding video that i had made for them. Like all the ones I had previously made, it took me hours and days. However, it turned out really great and it portrayed everything of their journey from friendship to relationship to engagement to wedding day.

After the reception, Anna and I went back to the strip, mainly the Bellagio. It is our favorite hotel in Las Vegas and we spent over two hours going to the gardens and watching the water show multiple times. While we standing there, a ridiculous couple came up next to us with a priest, and proceeded to get married right in front of the water show. We were witnesses to not only a wedding, but a pretty long and disgusting make-out session by the newly married couple. Aside from that kiss, the Bellagio experience was the best way to end the day.

The rest of the weekend was spent sleeping in, touring more of the strip, helping Anna's sister with her spanish homework, going on a morning walk, touring Las Vegas, doing a puzzle, and packing sack lunches before I headed back to Provo to start my internship the next day.

I had been looking forward to this day for so long and as I look back now, it feels almost like a dream.
One great, amazing, and memorable day/weekend that can only be called one thing --- GREAT.
Told you.
