Ok. Heather Walt has been one of my best friends this year. She was Carrie Beard's roommate and Cole, Spencer, Sam and I started hanging out with all of them last fall. We enjoyed some great times together and she decided that since she was turning 21, she was going to send in her mission papers. I agree. I think that every sister should serve a mission. It can only help! Well, school ended and she decided to drive home to San Diego to await her mission call. She invited me to come along so she wouldn't have to drive alone. She said I could make a mini-vacation out of it (as if I didn't just get back from Mexico, right)? Well I decided to go and I am glad I did. We left Thursday and stopped in Vegas at the halfway point. We toured the hotels, casinos and shopping malls, rode the rollercoaster at NYNY, saw the fountains and ate dinner. It was a great trip. Everytime I go to Vegas I get really excited, but after I am there, I realize how trashy, dirty, and overrated the place is. If you don't have hundreds of dollars for shows or like the party scene, then the place is a waste of time. The clean, cheap things that we did were exciting; but after three hours we were ready to leave. We got back on the road and drove straight through to San Diego. With the time change, we pulled into her driveway at about 1:30 in the morning. We made pretty good time. The days spent in San Diego were great. We went to the temple, ate at In-N-Out twice, went to two different beaches, got sunburned, visited a couple mission buddies, went to church and met and had dinner with Kimbre's family. The trip was well worth it. I flew home late Sunday evening, remembering many memories. The only disappointment was that Heather did not receive her mission call. She still has to wait one more week... the anticipation is killing her.
