Reunited

The parties just don't seem to stop.

Last weekend, my oldest friends from BYU met me in Salt Lake for a reunion. It's hard to believe that over three years ago Cole, Carrie and I met these great friends.

Not only were we celebrating Cat's 24th birthday - which sparked a debate of it being categorized as early, mid or late 20s - but Christmas in general, and the departure of some of us to different places (China, San Diego).

Dinner was at trio; which just happens to be my favorite restaurant in Salt Lake. And also just happens to be across the street from my apartment. Yet I do not eat there often. Come to think of it, last time I went was a year ago when the parents came to visit last fall. It was as great as I remember. If you go - get the baked penne and rosemary flatbread. And ask for the waitress that over enunciates every word that comes out of her mouth. On second thought, ask for someone else. It got really annoying.

After dinner, we couldn't pass up the lights at temple square.

We couldn't pass it up.

And if walking around temple square wasn't enough, we decided to walk another ten blocks or so to Applebees for dessert.

For another two hours, we sat around a table laughing and discussing: documentaries, fruit juicers, China, cancer, med school, Christmas, vomiting in cars, youtube videos, raising kids, and a hundred other things that I never thought I would talk about.

I guess it goes to show that we are growing up and we are all now "officially in the mid-20s range," whether we all agree on what to call it or not.

I don't know the next time all of us will be together.

But let's hope that 1- it is soon 2- that cole joins us and 3 - a game of nerts is somehow incorporated.
