Garrett, my dark secret is - I know NOTHING about HTML/java script. Everything you see on my blog I figured out how to do through google searches. That would seriously be your best bet. There are great websites out there that explain how to do it better than me.
My pictures are big because I have them hosted on photobucket. You can sign up for a free photobucket account and upload your pictures. Then, you can size them however big you want (my big ones are 600p wide), and then you copy the html code into you post.
I do miss fall in Provo. That pictures is beautiful.
